The Wellness Program at SF International High School believes that wellness is a cornerstone for learning and success in school. We recognize the unique needs of the SFIHS community, and understand that many of our students are not only adjusting to a new school, but to a new city, language, and culture. This can be difficult for the student and the entire family, and the Wellness Program is here to offer support however we can. We are dedicated to improving the health, well-being, and educational outcomes of all students through the provision of culturally and linguistically appropriate services.
We provide free, confidential services to students, including health education and assessment, mental health and substance abuse counseling, support and empowerment groups, crisis intervention, and reproductive health services. We also work closely with many community-based organizations that provide services to students on campus; these include:
Community Youth Center (CYC)
Instituto de Familiar de la Raza
Vietnamese Youth Development Center (VYDC)
Legal Services for Children
New Generation Health Center
Additionally, our program aims to educate youth about resources and services available in the community, and provide them with referrals to public and private health providers.
